About Us

A&P Mechanic Institute was originally founded in 2020 as International AeroTech Academy. International AeroTech Academy obtained its initial approval to conduct General and Airframe curriculum by the Federal Aviation Administration in October of 2021. Approval to conduct training for the Powerplant curriculum was granted in March of 2023.

 

Phoenix East Aviation acquired International AeroTech Academy in September of 2025 and rebranded as A&P Mechanic Institute.

Founded in 1972, Phoenix East Aviation has gained recognition as one of the finest educational training facilities in the world. Our founder was a retired airline Captain and a former Chairman of the U.S. Presidential Aviation Advisory Board. He was also a Vice President of the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA). His aviation background and leadership skills contributed to the advanced development and continual success of our schools. We also have the distinction of training a NASA astronaut who walked on the moon. The astronaut received his Airline Transport Pilot License at Phoenix East Aviation.

 

With over five decades of excellence, PEA stands as a distinguished, Nationally Accredited flight school dedicated to shaping the aviation dreams of aspiring pilots. A main campus located at Daytona Beach International Airport, a Satellite facility in Ft Lauderdale where we are the flight training provider for Broward College, and an Auxiliary training facility in Flagler Beach that specializes in accelerated training.

 

With the acquisition of an Aviation Maintenance Technician training facility, Phoenix East Aviation now offers a complete aviation training curriculum.
